An Adventurous Journey to Manudevi Temple

This can happen only in India! 😃

An Adventurous Journey to Manudevi Temple! A Story of Faith, Unexpected Challenges, and Human Kindness 😊🙏

Sometimes, a journey to seek God's blessings also gives us an opportunity to discover the goodness, honesty, and different shades of human nature!

Whenever we visit Muktainagar, we make it a point to seek the blessings of our family deity, Goddess Manudevi, whose beautiful temple is nestled in the scenic Satpuda hills.

This year, too, on Sunday, October 25, 2026, we set out from Muktainagar for Manudevi Darshan.

But this journey turned out to be quite different from our usual visits!

Along with the blessings of Goddess Manudevi, we experienced an unexpected road accident, some strange road planning, honest businessmen, and even an interesting business idea!

So, I thought, why not share this memorable experience with you? 😊
🙏 What Is True Faith?

While we were on our way to Manudevi, I was talking on the phone with my nephew, Vaibhav, who lives in Nagpur.

He had recently received his US travel visa, and I had called to congratulate him.

During our conversation, I casually mentioned,

"We are now leaving for Manudevi Darshan."

He immediately asked,

"Mama, is this your GPay number?"

I replied, "Yes. Why?"

He said, "I am transferring ₹500. Please offer it to Goddess Manudevi."

I said, "Of course! I will get a donation receipt in your name."

His response was simple but beautiful.

"Mama, there is no need for any receipt. I have given the money, you will put it in the donation box, and it will reach the Goddess. That's all!"

His words genuinely touched my heart.

What a simple, sincere, and beautiful thought!

No expectation of recognition.

No need for a receipt.

No desire for publicity.

I believe this is what true faith is all about!

What reaches God is not the amount we donate but the purity of our intentions.

Money, donations, and receipts are merely mediums. What truly matters is the feeling behind the offering.

Vaibhav's simple statement reminded me of this once again. 😊

🚗 An Unexpected Adventure on the Way to the Temple!

This journey will remain memorable for another reason.

The distance from Bhusawal to Manudevi is approximately 50 kilometres, and most of the road is reasonably good.

But...

About two kilometres before reaching the temple, there is a small bridge over a stream.

The bridge is so narrow that two vehicles cannot safely cross it simultaneously.

There is no proper protective railing either.

Instead, large square concrete blocks, approximately one and a half feet high, have been placed along the bridge.

And surprisingly, one of these blocks is positioned almost in the path of moving vehicles!

No warning signs!
No caution boards!

No advance indication of the obstruction!

Just imagine the situation.

Exactly when I was crossing the bridge, another vehicle approached from the opposite direction.

While trying to make space for the oncoming vehicle, I did not get enough time to avoid the concrete block.

And suddenly...

BANG! The left wheel of my car hit the concrete block!

Within moments, the tyre lost its air.

Just think about it.

To manage traffic on a narrow bridge, someone decided to place huge concrete blocks on the road without providing any warning signs!

This can happen only in India! 😃

Having recently returned from a three-month trip to the United States, I immediately remembered how such situations are handled there.

In America, road safety receives considerable attention. Drivers are warned well in advance through proper signs, road markings, and clear instructions.

India is certainly developing better roads and impressive highways.

However, when it comes to attention to detail, road safety, and practical planning, we still have a long way to go.

As we say in Hindi, "Abhi Dilli Door Hai!" 🙂
🔧 The Tyre Was Changed, but the Problem Wasn't Over!

We stopped the car and replaced the damaged tyre with the spare.

However, I soon realised that the impact had also bent a suspension component, locally called the Kaichi.

As a result, the tyre was slightly rubbing against the rear side.

Now what?

Finding a garage in that forest area was almost impossible.

So, we carefully drove the car to the Manudevi temple.

After parking the car, we went for Darshan.

Since it was Sunday, there was a little crowd, but we had a peaceful and satisfying Darshan of Goddess Manudevi.

We also visited the nearby waterfall.

The beautiful Satpuda surroundings, the divine atmosphere, and the peaceful Darshan made the visit worthwhile.

But now it was time to deal with our car problem!
🚗 From Manudevi to Bhusawal: In Search of a Garage!

After making a few enquiries, we learned that we might find a garage at Kingaon.

So, we carefully drove approximately 14 kilometres to Kingaon.

But another unexpected situation was waiting for us.

We were told that tensions had developed between two communities over which roads people should or should not use.

Considering the situation, we were advised to proceed directly to Yawal.

So, another 14 kilometres of careful driving brought us to Yawal.

There, a garage mechanic examined the car and said,

"You will get the replacement Kaichi only in Bhusawal. It is better to go there."

Another 18 kilometres!

So, with a damaged suspension component, we continued our journey from one town to another until we finally reached Bhusawal.

By then, I had only one thought in mind.

Hopefully, we will finally get the car repaired here!
😊 Ballu Garage: A Pleasant Surprise!

Just before entering Bhusawal city, we noticed a garage named Ballu Garage.

We stopped and showed the car to the mechanic.

After examining it, he said,

"Bring the replacement Kaichi. I will fit it for you."

He even arranged an autorickshaw for me.

I went to a spare parts shop, purchased the required component, and was about to return.

But something interesting caught my attention!
💡 An Interesting Business Idea: Car Spare Parts and Perfumes!

Inside the automobile spare parts shop, I noticed an attractive display of perfumes!

Perfumes in a car spare parts shop?

That was interesting! 😃

I liked the idea so much that I purchased a perfume.

The shopkeeper packed it nicely in a pouch carrying the shop's name and customer care number.

I appreciated this simple but creative business approach.

His primary business was selling automobile spare parts, but he had also introduced an entirely different product category as an additional business opportunity.

In business, instead of thinking only about what customers have come to purchase, we should also consider what else might interest them.

Sometimes, small observations can lead to new business opportunities.

The entrepreneur within me still enjoys noticing such ideas, even after all these years! 😊

Anyway...

I returned to Ballu Garage with the replacement part.

The mechanic fitted it properly.

And the best part?

He charged a very reasonable amount!

Frankly, considering our situation, I was slightly worried that the mechanic might take advantage of our helplessness and charge an excessive amount.

But nothing of that sort happened.

He completed the work honestly and at a fair price.

Meeting people who do their work sincerely without exploiting someone else's difficulties is always a wonderful experience.

Ballu Garage certainly left a positive impression on me.

🛞 A Tyre Repair for Just ₹80!

The next day, back in Muktainagar, I visited Mali Tyre Service to get the tyre damaged during the accident checked.

The young mechanic examined it carefully.

Then he said,

"There is nothing wrong with the tyre. The impact slightly bent the rim, which caused the air to escape."

Within just five minutes, he corrected the rim and inflated the tyre.

I asked, "How much?"

He replied, "₹80!"

I happily gave him ₹100.

Because, based on some of my earlier experiences, finding an honest tyre repair mechanic sometimes feels like a blessing! 😃

Let me tell you why.

Some time ago, I noticed that one of my car tyres had low air pressure.

I stopped at an unfamiliar tyre repair shop to get it inflated.

The mechanic started examining the tyre.

And then, right before my eyes, he performed what I can only describe as a magic trick!

Suddenly, my tyre had FOUR punctures!

He repaired all four and presented me with such a large bill that I almost felt buying a new tyre would have been a better option! 😃

Since that experience, I generally avoid visiting unfamiliar tyre repair shops unless necessary.

Of course, not everyone is like that.

There are also honest and hardworking people like those at Mali Tyre Service and Ballu Garage.

This journey reminded me of that once again.
🙏 A Journey That Offered More Than Divine Darshan!

When I look back at the entire journey, I realise how many different experiences we had in just one day.

I witnessed Vaibhav's selfless devotion.

I experienced the consequences of careless road planning.

I had to travel from town to town searching for a garage.

I discovered a creative business idea in an automobile spare parts shop.

And most importantly, I encountered honest people who helped us without taking advantage of our difficulties.

What an interesting combination of experiences!

A journey that began with the intention of seeking divine blessings ended up teaching us several small but meaningful lessons about life.

As we say in Hindi,

"Ant Bhala To Sab Bhala!" — All's well that ends well! 😊

Our journey was adventurous, slightly stressful, and full of unexpected experiences.

But thankfully, it ended safely and left us with many memorable moments.
🌺 A Special Thought Before Goddess Manudevi...

Now comes the final and, for me, the most meaningful part of this journey.

While standing before the beautiful idol of Goddess Manudevi, a special thought crossed my mind.

I generally do not ask God for anything.

Because I have a firm belief.

God knows better than we do what we truly need, what we deserve, and when the right time is for us to receive it.

Therefore, whenever I visit a temple, I do not carry a long list of wishes or demands.

Sometimes, I simply have a quiet, heartfelt conversation with God.

Just as we speak openly with someone very close to our heart.

This time, too, while standing before the beautiful idol of Goddess Manudevi, a particular thought came to my mind.

What was that thought?

Well...

For now, let it remain between Goddess Manudevi and me! 😊

If that thought becomes a reality someday, I will certainly share it with you through another blog post, just as I am sharing this experience today.

Until then...

At the feet of Goddess Manudevi, I have only one feeling — may whatever happens in life ultimately happen for the best! 🙏🌺
